Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture

Federal Minister Cem Özdemir has led the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture since December 2021. Within the Federal Government, the Federal Minister is responsible for German food and agricultural policy.

Born in Bad Urach on 21 December 1965; married, two children.

A selection of awards received by Cem Özdemir include the Theodor Heuss Medal (1996), the prize for the “2018 Speech of the Year” from the “Seminar für Allgemeine Rhetorik” (Department for General Rhetoric) at the University of Tübingen, the Ignatz Bubis Prize (2019) and the Dolf Sternberger Prize for Political Speech (2019).
