Species diversity

The conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity in agriculture, forestry, fisheries and the food industry form the basis of life for us and for future generations.

The protection and use of the diverse resources go hand in hand, because sustainable use allows us to preserve the Earth's species and the potential uses to which they can be put. They thus form a stable basis for the future supply of food worldwide. The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture is committed to improving measures for the protection of biological and landscape diversity in agricultural areas and forests.
